Week 4 of the one room challenge is done, this post isn’t getting up til halfway through week 5 (YIKES) – it’s hard to actually shop for all the stuff you need to do a four room “one room” challenge. What have I signed myself up for?!? I mean, things are chugging along, but it takes way longer than I expect every time to find quality pieces I’m happy with, trying to balance my apparently extremely expensive Versaille-esque tastes with, well, modern times and a budget.
I’ve let my creativity fly with this and now it’s time to try to rein it in and tie everything together. Things are getting glamorous, with lots of crystal, antique brass, larger vanity mirrors, wallpaper, and a sheen in our new carpets really setting off the ambient glow created by our coromandel screen that inspired the room’s palette and vibe. I promised last week I’d share inspiration images, so this week here they are!
The first 5 or so are what I drew the most literal inspiration from – palette, how to use colors and patterns, overall feel. Click for sources.
Other updates: our contractor got back to us finally, and he’s booked out for MONTHS. So the shower will wait until he’s free. A good contractor is so worth the wait, so I’m willing to be patient a while longer to have a functioning shower again. I’m nailing down decisions like sconces, ordering paints, awaiting wallpaper and will be attaching 23 crystal knobs in the closet this weekend.
I’ll post a teaser on instagram too. Keep an eye out!
C’est tout, enjoy the inspo!
